Privacy Policy — QR & Barcode Toolkit

Last updated: October 7, 2026

QR & Barcode Toolkit ("the app") is developed by Gaurav ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app accesses, what we do with it, and your choices. We wrote it to match exactly what the app does — not a generic template.

Summary

The app works entirely offline for its core features. Scanning, generating, and your scan/generate history never leave your device — there is no account, no login, and no server we operate that stores your data. The only data that leaves your device does so through two third-party services we use for advertising and payment, described below.

Camera

The app requests camera access only to let you scan QR codes and barcodes. Camera frames are processed on-device to detect codes and are never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere, by us or by any third party.

What we store locally on your device

The app saves the following only in local storage on your device (not on any server we control), and you can clear it at any time by uninstalling the app:

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Free-tier use of the app shows banner ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and other data to serve and measure ads, governed by Google's Partner Sites policy. Where required by your region's law (including the EEA, UK, and certain U.S. states), the app shows a consent form before loading any ads, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can review or change your ad consent choice at any time from the app's Settings screen under "Ad privacy settings".

Purchasing the Pro upgrade removes ads entirely, and no AdMob SDK initialization or ad request occurs for Pro users.

Purchases (Google Play Billing)

The one-time Pro purchase is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details — Google processes the transaction and shares only the purchase confirmation with the app, which is stored locally on your device as described above.

Links you choose to open

When you tap "Open" on a scanned link, "Search online", or a support/email link in Settings, the app hands that off to your device's browser or mail app. We don't track which links you open.

Children

The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children. Advertising content is restricted to a general-audience rating in our ad network configuration.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
